Etho is a versatile composer and songwriter from Hong Kong, currently based in New York. Her work spans interactive media, visual, and performing arts. She possesses extensive experience in scoring for short films, animations, and theatrical productions. Her music blends classical technique with contemporary sensibilities, crafting emotionally resonant and narratively driven works across genres.
Etho developed her narrative voice through intimate collaboration with the United College Drama Society and the Intervarsity Drama Festival. Serving in the dual capacity of Composer and Sound Designer, she crafted comprehensive sonic identities, ranging from immersive soundscapes to original theme songs. She currently serves as the Resident Music Director for the Hong Kong-based theatrical production house One Hand Band.
Beyond linear media, Etho is an active arranger and orchestrator within the ACG sphere, notably arranging for the Hong Kong Doujin Philharmonia. She collaborated on the symphonic arrangement for the renowned Japanese pianist Marasy, blending virtuosic piano performance with diverse orchestral textures.
In 2024, she released her Original Album, "The Right Days Left Nothing", in both physical and digital formats. This project highlights Etho's capacity as a complete music producer. She managed the entire creative pipeline, including songwriting, arranging, recording, and mixing, which demonstrates full command over the music production process.
As a pianist, Etho blends technical expertise with collaborative flexibility. She premiered her original repertoire at her graduation recital in July 2024. She extends this craft to the independent music community, working closely with indie artists to adapt and arrange their songs for piano.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with First Class Honours from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Screen Scoring at New York University, continuing to develop her voice in film and media composition.
